Microsoft need to crack the £200 market first then move onto the consumer sweet spot of £150.
There is not one Windows tablet that can rival the Nexus 7 at that price point - until Microsoft can do this then all bets are off.
hmmmm
Perhaps in the pure tablet market £150 - £200 is about right.
But throw in an attachable keyboard and you are suddenly competing with £400+ laptops.
I really need to get myself a 2-in-1 in the next few months.
My Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga should arrive any day now
Doubt i will ever use it in any mode other than laptop though tbh!
Edit: Just checked the tracking, its last location was Shanghai... so it might be a bit of a wait :/
I can't wait for my Thinkpad to die, so I can replace it with a 8"/10" Windows 8 (non-RT) tablet.
I love my Nexus 7 (2012 version with 3G), but only see it (Android) as a stop gap until I can replace tablet and laptop with "one" (Windows) device.

The Lenovo Miix 2 10"/11" looks interesting.
i think ill stick with my iPad
I've just bought a new tablet - went for a Nexus 10. The Surface 2 was a serious contender and if I had the money, the Pro version would have been my number one. At the minute though it's just too expensive and the apps aren't quite there yet - closing the gap. Had a windows phone in the past and liked it - Microsoft will get it right in the end.
Nope. Sorry. Next topic.
Was last year the year of the Ultrabook?
I hope these analysts don't get paid too much for this nonsense. I think Mystic Meg could do better.
Well, the analyst's name is Andrew Borg, and you will be assimilated. (I bet he's never heard THAT before.)
Anyway, I agree that for BYOD a tablet with full Windows has many advantages in Windows based work spaces. A lot of work can be done directly on the tablet simply by docking it, and it's easy to carry it and continue working anywhere, which is what companies would like you to do.
For home users, Android and iOS do offer benefits, but I'm sure quite a few (like me) will get a Windows tablet to take advantage of the Windows desktop software. I'll still keep my Nexus 7 and might use it, but I intend to buy an ASUS VivoTab Note 8 and make it my main gaming PC.
