Do we really need these non interference coolers. Just go buy some LP ram. Not as though you need the big heat spreaders, DDR3 doesn't get hot.
Well yes and no, there are some situations where these work and a larger cooler will not.
pc case width restrictions are the main one.
The 120mm version is only 140mm tall which is around 20mm shorter than normal 120mm tower coolers, if you've got a cheap generic case then you often cannot fit a normal 120mm tower based cooler in there because of the height, the reason thermaltake can make this only 140mm tall is that the fan can be lower as it doesn't have to clear normal height ram.
That said they could of made it wider (extending the fins on one side) as it's not going to benefit for push pull, it'll have to be priced around the same as good 92mm fan based tower coolers and the existence of all-in-one water coolers makes these less useful.
It's still one of the best looking products I've seen from thermaltake for a very long time.
