It's "up to 71% in the vast majority of games"!

Of course, 1% improvement is also "up to 71%" and none of their benchmarks actually show a 71% improvement. The sooner the EU ban abuse of this 'up to' nonsense the better.

Well it is "upto" that figure and every PC is different. I got nearly 30% improvement in Sleeping Dogs.

Well I think the fact Nvidia don't even seem to have disclosed how they managed to get that 64% figure is quite telling. If they had, why isn't it plastered over every headline in the tech press?

I concur with shaithis, are they using a previously broken game as an example?

The 71% SLI improvement basically says, SLI was completely non-functional on that game...

IMO it seems like this is a run-of-the-mill update being hyped up in Mantle PR damage-control mode.

Yes you are correct, it can affect different systems differently, drivers have shown time and again that they can make big or little differences or even sometimes make things worse.

Exactly, but in the Nvdia are-great forums that point will be missed. AMD PR gets ridiculed ever since Bulldozer but other companies are not. According to Nvidia PR, Tegra should be in every mobile device now; or even according to Intel PR Atom should have driven Qualcomm out of business ages ago. But in the real world of mobile SOCs, both of Intel and Nvidia are actually being out-competed by Mediatek.

And don't be started on Nvidia's black PR against R9-290/290X but the bare squeak about Titan Black throttling like mad and being within 0.5dB(A) of R9-29X sound wise. So much for the legendary Titan cooler...

Went from 28..9fps to 29.3 fps with a GTX670 on the Metro LL benchmark Maxed apart from AA at 1080p so I'm not exactly blown away.
Id love to know what game gets a 71% improvement -_-

Not that bad mostly (although DP compute stuff might be different) but it is good of computerbase and other European sites to let the cards warm up a bit. Stops dishonest GPU boost features!

The noise is pretty high (7. Kühlung & Lautstärke) though at 60.0 dB(A) vs 60.5dB(A) for the reference R9-290X.

thanks, thats nothing major to me, wasn't expecting gpu boost to work during gpu rendering anyways, it would get 'too hot' and 60dB(A) can't be much worse than the 570 I've got now lol

I'm a bit weird, I kind of like to hear a little noise from my pc, I know the fans are working lol

Tried em last night, probably placebo but the only difference I noticed was that Titanfall didn't seem as smooth *shrug*

    I don't know what's worse. Fanboi's or Fanboi-bashing.

It's a performance upgrade. Surely that's excellent if you have an nvidia card, and a kick up the butt for future performance improvements from AMD. Everyone wins!

Performance upgrades are great, I don't have any problem with that from anyone. But I do have an issue with potentially misleading and unhelpful claims, be that from nVidia, AMD, Intel or your budget airline of choice. No-one wins as as result from them.
