They've jammed a 760 in to that? The flurry of mini pcs has started! Laptop systems with desktop GPUs makes good sense to me.
i7 jump probably more of a benefit than on the desktop parts due to the extra physical cores.

I'm intrigued - how many more i5 4200 variants are intel going to release? Every time they need a new reduced power chip of some sort they just seem to slap a different letter after i5 4200 and call it quits! I make that Y (1.4GHz - 1.9GHz), U (1.6GHz - 2.6GHz), M (2.5GHz - 3.1GHz) and now H (2.8GHz - 3.4GHz), all dual-core 4 thread, and not one of them as fast as the base level desktop i3 (4130, 3.4GHz). Not quite sure how they get to be called i5s, really...

Presuably Gigabyte needed a mobile chip to solder on to a microPC motherboard, but if they'd just made the board big enough to take a socket they could've used the faster desktop i5 4570T, which also has the benefit of a lower TDP (35W v 47W). Plus it's got a bigger number, so it must be better, amiright? All round odd decision, IMNSHO...

We have been told by Gigabyte that the Nvidia graphics in this system is indeed a desktop GTX 760 component, albeit a lower voltage version with slightly reduced clock speeds.

looks great, i'd love to see the baord underneath the i/o layer. I wonder how toasty it'd get?

I guess it's the board on the side, so the HSF does look fairly substantial. I do have a feeling it'll get a bit loud.
Still looking forward to hearing more about the ASUS ROG machines

It's all very nice... but I still prefer a whacking great full-size PC case with bags of room for extra stuff, custom bits and loads of personal mods.
I'd swap to a 900D right now if I had the money!!

People keep bringing out more and more interesting VESA-mountable mini PCs, but has anyone thought about the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to find a decent monitor with VESA mounts these days? Obviously they are have VESA mounting points, but the monitor arm invariably screws into them, which means you can't actually use them.

Why is no-one addressing this problem????
