Just wait for the Winter Steam sale.. I'm sticking to Civ 5 for the moment.
Just downloading Sid Meier's Civilisation V from Steam for free - hopefully this will be similarly available when I get ready for it!
With so much competition from so many different softcos then yes IMO that is way too much. It's all relative of course to peoples' varying incomes & priorities; all I know is I'll never pay more than a tenner for a game ever again, probably not even a fiver tbh (which this'll b soon enough and I'm in no hurry)...
