I'd rather wait and they got it right than them release it early and make a mess of it.

To be fair, his earlier quote was that they'd be able to bring it out late summer/early fall, no that they would bring it out then. September/October's fairly traditional for a new Windwos release anyway, so not hugely surprising (the timings are very similar to the availability for Win 7 beta and RTM....)

Re: Microsoft COO: Windows 10 to launch in autumn 2015

I predicted Microsoft would release Windows 10 in the fall of 2015. It's the back-to-school season and a ramp-up to the holidays as well.

Also 4/5 of the last Windows releases have been in October, with Vista being the exception

Re: Microsoft COO: Windows 10 to launch in autumn 2015

I wonder how long after Windows 10 it will be before 10.1 is released to fix all the issues? Based on Microsoft's recent track record I won't be contemplating upgrading from Windows 7 until some time after launch day.

not to mention there could be a delay on 'non english' versions of windows, this date could be specific to Japan with the previous one for America/UK etc

    'Recent'?

So far only windows 2000,xp and 7 are in the 'non shocking' pile.

To those who running 8/8.1, it may be poor but some people had to endure windows ME. Your pain is small in comparison.

I run 8.1 on most of my devices, I prefer it to 7. With 8.1 you get options that do not exist with 7, has been the most stable MS release I have ever used, not had any patching issues either.

I would go and compare 8,1 to vista sp2... It just works
