Steam seems even slower than it usually is when a sale is on. Can't even try the minigame as it keeps coming up with a error.
Just spotted Valykria Chronicles is on sale for £3.74! Its a seriously good game. Definitely worth checking out. Little bit like xcom but you control the characters during their move like an FPS. The art style is different but its breath of fresh air compared to so many cookie cutter sequels we usually get!
"There was a problem trying to join a game. Please try again later."
Last night it took me about an 30 mins to get logged in then another hour just to purchase a game. It's ok just now 12:15 GMT but I'm guessing when the U.S wakes up things are going to get bad again
There is a lot of criticism of this steam sale game and the lack of community voting for games to go on sale on the steam discussions at the moment. It does strike me as a pretty convoluted setup.. they should just keep it simple etc.
GTAV for 40 quid? No thanks, I'll wait, got plenty of sweet games to tide me over until that becomes a sensible price.
Is there a normal way to vote ? like previous sales. I thought you had to get all the cards then play a game to be able to influence what games get the deals.
I have to say I hate the idea of having to do all that just to get my vote counted, and i'm still stuck with only two cards one of which I earned before the sale started and the other by spending the equivalent of $10 in the sale. Steam won't let me buy sell or trade cards because I used a new card to add steam credit for the sale !
I can't see any voting options at the moment like in previous sales. I can't even join this game to unlock deals etc due to the error everyone else seems to be getting. Yea, it's not clear what's going on imho as there does seem to be community milestones that are being unlocked in relation to this steam game which give you free games or deals? Lol I could quite easily be wrong.
Edit: I don't know if the deals unlocked by this game are for all steam users or those playing.
Edit 2: "With your help, players of the Monster Game can work together to unlock special 48-hour discounts on select games. Each milestone reached unlocks a new discount on a mystery game, available to everyone on Steam at 10am Pacific time the following day. New milestones each day through June 18."
Edit3: Suppose I should have read the Hexus article first rather than wading through the steam sale bumpf lol
PS - I've got my eye on Creeper World III - http://store.steampowered.com/app/280220 Old school addictive RTS and looks like it might get upto 80% off in a few hours.

Lego games all on sale - woohoo, kids are happy and entertained for a while... :-)
I found it all easy to get up to lvl 110 with people's help also I managed to sell one of the badges given to me and get 10 cents enough to buy Despair and get my list of games up to 100 and leveling up to lvl 9 yeepekay yeahhhhhhhhh
Like quite a lot of things Valve, the monster minigame is more meta/community than it seems at first glance. They seem to be allowing (and indeed, encouraging giving the scales) javascript based auto-gamers, leading to community groups forming around the best way to use them for long term optimal scoring. I'm on the coat tails of a group that's got to 1,500 in half a day, while there are other rooms that have gone past 10,000 in the same time frame - top room is now at 17,000.
By the end of the sale, and with some optimisation they might be able to reach 300,000.
