Totally didn't see this coming.
Strapping the advertising board to the face and get people to pay £500 for privilege. It's pure genius really.
I think this project was doomed from the moment Failbook got involved.

It's when the ad appears on the end of your nose because it hasn't been placed into the 3D world properly that we will hear the real anguish

Not a chance I will buy one of these after seeing those Terms of Service.
Bunch of jokers
I was worried about the rift because if this. But thankfully the price stopped me falling into the advertising trap.
I doubt they would be plonking adverts over immersive gaming. I expect they'll probably just monitor the kind of VR apps/games you play and use that info to deliver targeted ads when you are on Facebook.
Still intrusive.
Surely you must be able to opt out of this? Aren't there laws against companies foisting this stuff on us without a chance to decline? If not, then it's reprehensible...

Going to play the waiting game on this, as I don't want a facebook device, and also the controllers... I need a keyboard and mouse! I'm sure someone will fix that conundrum soon, though, right?
Ye, not the least bit surprised given Facebook's involvement.
Thankfully I don't really care about VR anyway, at least not as it currently stands. Just the very matter of the Oculus having it's own store was a strange idea in my eyes.
And it seems (so far anyway) there's nothing sinister going on after all the weekend's FUD and hysteria.
