I got bored pretty quickly with the first one. Only played it for ~ 30 something hours. A bit too CoDish for me and ultimately a waste of moneh. But that's just me

my biggest problem with the first game is that they put an aim bot in the game (smart pistol)

Re: Titanfall 2 teaser trailer published by Respawn Entertainment

I never even got the first one because friends who tried the beta got bored very quickly. It's funny isn't it, a game with a HUUUUGE budget like this ends up being almost immeasurably inferior to a much smaller effort (in financial terms) like Natural Selection 2. I sank over 1500h a few years ago into NS2 and is still to this day an excellent game. Small studio work is so often superior to these huge titles...

Great idea, but 6v6 was never enough players in my opinion.

Plus as is always the case with EA, they charge some ridiculous price like £60, then expect you to buy the DLC months later!

Remember when games used to be £30/35, and you would get media also. Never really understood why they have doubled the price, for digital downloads... makes no sense to me.

Ruined the game for me. Was a great, well refined multiplayer experience and for some stupid reason they decided to add an aimbot.

I didn't find Titanfall to be that good really, even before they added aimbot.

Definitely didn't have the same playability as other recent FPS's.

Re: Titanfall 2 teaser trailer published by Respawn Entertainment

It was fun on the PC for a week or two until people decided to ruin it with various hacks like the ability to permanently see through walls and implementing auto-aim bots. I have since adopted a policy of only buying multi-player online games for either my PS4 or Xbox One but I stick with my PC for stand-alone single player games.

I wasn't aware of any problems on PC, has that been a permanent theme for Titanfall or were they quick to fix the issues?

You can't prevent hacking on PC, it's impossible. VAC, punkbuster and co. just get cracked. All you can do is design your game in a way that makes hacking harder. A nice example for that is to not send data of units that the player can't see and checking visibility on the server. Lots of developers just give up and don't implement any hacking-protection, but that's definitely not the right way.

That's a good point, I just thought a game with a huge budget like Titanfall wouldn't be so susceptible to hacking.

They put some measures in place to detect cheating but they weren't very effective. The thing is, the 'cheating' software is difficult to detect because of the way it injects code into the game as it runs. So as far as I am aware, it was never fixed because it can't actually be fixed.

All hacking can be stopped, devs just need to move all the data server-side. It's a VERY simple concept but its easier to use the same client-side code that they used on the consoles (a console needs to be exploited to run unsigned code before you can do the same hacks on them).

Could they not implement something similar to how Steam runs Counterstrike GO and Overwatch?
