Profits fell 60.6% and Nintendo still made 16.5 billion! Typo?

Makes much more sense.
They'd probably make a ton more money if they put all their titles / IPs onto the other platforms. They could exercise tight control over the developers and the product before it was released if they were worried about tarnishing their reputation with sub standard product.
It seems pointless flogging the dying horse (they just aren't in the console race any more) when they could make so much by expanding their market. After all, few gamers buy a console just for the sake of the console itself, they buy them because of the Games, how well they play and how good they look, easily achieved if you develop for the popular HW - PS4, XB1 and PC
Nintendo need to stop beating around the bush and give us a new console with a quad core and 1200 stream processors GPU all at a cost of $300.
Ah but the difference there is that Sega were very poorly managed anyway, and were already on their last legs before they went software only; they only survived at all because they finally jumped out of the HW race before they completely folded. They had no choice. Nintendo aren't in that position, relatively speaking they are in a secure position, (if they don't wait too long.) Nintendo have a very strong catalogue of characters and titles, probably more so than Sega did.
After all even the other players are talking about allowing their exclusives onto the PC, the market continues to change... I think people really are more interested in the experience and less in the HW for its own sake.
Nintendo can tap into that.
Any details on the hardware for the NX console?
I'm not sure in todays world. Someone on linkedin will know...

That better be expandable if it's correct :-S
Hopefully this will be better than the previous stuff Nintendo has pumped out in terms on consoles :/
Is the NX Nintendo's 10th console generation including handheld? I imagine the name will remain Nintendo NX or Nintendo X. Just a passing thought...
