I would not want that to happen whilst it was in my pocket! Serious leg burns!!
Wonder where they get those exploding batteries. Must be the bottom of the barrel of the Chinese battery market. Oh well Samsung is the new Apple after all, so they gotta drop those standards.
Stop getting dodgy Chinese batteries and get some reliable Japanese ones.
This is an easy solution - Stp being cheap with your 600+ Euro phones.
Almost any smartphone has a Li ION battery... and litterally they can all blow up, when recharging your devices or the likes you actually have to be present and not away on a field trip as it is a potential danger no matter what.
it is 35 cases worldwide, and if it is like 1 in 5 millions or less I can see why they are doing this stunt and calling them back, it is good service, likewise it is better to be open about that a malfunction has been discovered.
The right move, Samsung messed up and they are correcting it.
Nope they don't. Tested quite a few batteries myself. Almost all of them don't explode if you smash them, burn them, overcharge them or put them in water
There's also quite a few disappointed Youtubers trying to make a fancy explosion video, just to see that nothing happens.
Samsung has been CAUGHT... and are now correcting it.
Clearly the hottest smartphone released this month.

So much for the move towards non-removable batteries, Samsung. If it was the removable type like you used to do, all you had to do was mail out new batteries together with a return envelope to collect the original faulty ones for testing! Stupid moves by manufacturers for stupid consumers.
At least they had the guts to issue a complete recall. Kudos.
If it was the damn fruit company, they would deny there was a problem. Or say "See you in court!". Or tell you to hold it differently in your hand.
