Oooh I want one. I'd love a PC focused TV. The price is going to be vile though. I reckon £3000+
Dread to think how much these will cost. Especially considering how expensive G-Sync monitors already are.
So it's a premium-priced TV that includes standard modern specs, with an nVidia Shield and G-Sync built in, and poorly tuned HDR (HDR is HDR, there is no "PC-tuned" HDR... PC should show the same as studio or it's not setup right).

Not strictly true either. HDR is HDR, but there are several different and competing protocols. There's the base HDR10 protocol (implemented in pretty much every HDR capable device), which uses static meta data (i.e. one set of HDR meta data is retrieved at the beginning of the video and used as is throughout) and then there's Dolby Vision and HDR10+, which both use dynamic meta data (the HDR meta data could essentially change for every frame rendered). And then there's HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) which stores HDR meta data in a way so it can co-exist with SDR video. HLG is mainly intended for broadcast video.
BTW, whichever HDR protocol is used it all essentially boils down to the tone-mapping process used to apply the data. So that's one way to screw up HDR royally, even if a given device supports more than one (or even a "special") HDR protocol.

I thought all of the different HDR specs have now been defined by VESA?

4 tiers essentially. Which cover the variances between the differing HDR manufacturers have been using.
I look forward to having to reboot my TV as often as I have to reboot my Shield TV box :/
$100-200 can easily be hidden in a 65in+ TV.
Let me know when freesync catches up, otherwise...yeah, still yawn. NV got it right. The best stuff in life isn't FREE
Need a safe zone? ROFL. PragerU has many vids to help you understand how the REAL world works.

You're welcome. Force your kids to watch all their videos before sending them to any college. Better yet, close down all colleges that don't work like prageru...Force your kids to subscribe or don't pay for their college...HAHAHA. Trophies are for WINNERS. PERIOD.
I hope this means a new version of shield TV is coming (10nm socs please, and TWO of them at ~100-200w total). Match Xbox scorpio etc.! I'm in then. Make it with a slot for a vid card later and I'll pay an extra $100 for it. Make it run windows too (like Qcom) and I'll up it another $50 & I'm happy to install it myself, just make the socs work with windows.
BFGD - sounds like something discovered in Doom. Are you sure the F stands for Format?
