Erm ... am I reading that right? YouTube Music will replace Play Music, and then I'll suddenly lose the ability to play music in the background with the native Google music app?!... Subscribers (US price $9.99 per month) will benefit from an advertising free experience, downloads for offline play, and rather importantly - the app enables background play/screen off capabilities for paying customers. ...

Google Play Music is a bit of a rubbish app anyhoo - the default Samsung player does a better job imho

Good luck to everyone who wants to be told how, when and where they can listen to their music. Not my thing.
I use Amazon music - simple to use and Ive discovered and listened to music I would have otherwise missed.

I never liked google play music, spotify was the easiest , with the largest music library, auto car mode and auto shazam-spotify .For youtube music you can always use youtube vanced.
I'm not sure there's any need to resurrect a thread from 2.5 years ago. I think this has happened by now and literally the guy you're responding to has died in the intervening period.
