So this is one of those "if you need to see a price, you can't afford it" deals, right?

I doubt it. This is exactly the sort of product that would sell well to consumers as the cost per GB should be lower than the existing MLC and TLC SSDs.

Hopefully we'll see some consumer products coming out near the end of the year. I could do with a 2TB Christmas pressie! (pretty please).

These would make fine steam SSDs.

No, looks to me like this is aimed into the market with drives like the Samsung PM863, Intel S4500 etc. Cheaper SATA drives with data centre focused firmware, still pricier than consumer level drives but the price per GB is quite low compared to other 'Enterprise' grade drives.

I take it carefully setting up a cell to 4 bit accuracy is really slow then if they are pushing storage density and don't mention any IOPS numbers.

Price competitive with 'Enterprise' grade hard drives but with better performance or low power consumption is all that's required to sell by the truckload.

Performance vs higher end MLC and TLC drives will probably appear poor, but that doesn't seem to be the point judging by their marketing material.

These are more than that - they are a fraction of the size of a 3.5" drive used for warm storage.

Yeah, but the last enterprise tray I saw used 2.5in drives which, albeit at 15mm high not 7mm, are available in 5TB sizes so not a huge amount in it.

But these are faster, so most companies could just have one simple tier of storage.

Lower performance and endurance ...what's not to like.
