Re: AMD Radeon RX 640 listed in latest Adrenalin driver

Low end silicon always gets used for generation after generation. That is how it has always been, and in a market where people just want a cheap way to plug a monitor into their Ryzen or Xeon cpu they don't care.

I think saying this means eg the 580 will be rebranded as 670 is one heck of a stretch. I think this also hints at the 3080 naming to be a false rumour.

I dont think this is for the consumer market that we usually talk about.

Mirroring the 5XX-VXX branding split isn't too unexpected, although I quite liked the arch-compute units naming scheme. I guess the problem, along with whether the public like it, is what to do when you release an improved architecture (like vega 7, which doesn't have 7 CUs)

it's a bit concerning that, according to the rumors, AMD has nothing to compete with the RTX 2080 or even the 2080 Ti
especially as for 4K if you want 60+ fps with the best image quality you really need an RTX 2080
according to Hexus"s reviews the 2070 does (on average) 51fps, the 2080 does 65fps and the 2080 Ti does 80fps at 40 with the settings to max.

    Firstly, depends on the game.
Secondly, what's that got to do with this ?
