if the only thing that is bad is the color then why write it, am much more of a stat person than looks, likewise tht m2s is not the most visible item anyway, so please please if anything, if you are going to write anything bad... put in a real factor or something.
Not super snappy, but way faster than any SSD, so i am thinking with spare sockets on my motherboard, why not put something like this in instead of a SSD.
And you don't have the 2 cables to contend with,,,,,, big bonus when you like me are cable anal.

Paid £115 last August for 960 gig. It's £46.56 for the Kingston 250 gig one, last week the Corsair 250 gig which is 2500 was £48. 500 gig Corsair was available just after Christmas at £72 with 3500 speedyeah for nearly 3x the price ..

MP510 owner here too. At £117 they're just in a perfect price point - not much more expensive than SATA, and weirdly cheaper than any other M.2. I kinda want another one. I'm tempted to buy one now, because although the memory price scaremongering rarely comes true, I hate leaving it to chance and don't wanna end up paying £150 for it down the line.

Not super technical here but...given there isn't much of a price diff...why would anyone buy the Kingston KC600 vs. this?
600 is SATA, 2000 is M.2. People with the choice would go M.2 but M.2 is still relatively new (hey it rhymed woo) (and that did too) (OK I'll stop now). There's still years of life in SATA, hell I doubt M.2 will ever replace it, or it's going to be a very long time, because SATA is still more than enough for pretty much everything, and the leap in time saved is marginal at best, it's not the sort of leap we seen (or will ever see again) when comparing spinning iron vs SATA.
Also OMG who remembers their first SATA. I miss those days. The giant leaps of progress we used to get. CRT to LCD. 1080p to 4K. Dial up to broadband. And then broadband to fibre! It really feels like the giant leaps are over.
Erm whilst what you say is correct the difference from a SATA to my Force MP510 is huge. And yes it makes a huge difference, Win 10 in under 10 secs compared to 30 secs, so 3 times faster in real terms. And with gen4 available it's an even bigger jump

Sounds like the normal effect of a fresh install of Windows.
Then your SATA drive sucked! And that's not to say mine is high end, like a Samsung or owt like that. One is a Sandisk Ultra II, the other is a Crucial MX300 (doesn't sound right, it's what properties say, I think it's a 500 though), and I swapped between them for windows installs, and while the M.2 is definitely snappier once you get to the point between logging in and being free of loading, it's more like a 5s difference rather than a 25.
Most games don't perform any better, but some are measurably so. Witcher 3 is the stand out - especially with mods. When you're in a city (Oxenfurt for example) I used to get that constant grey'ing and stuttering while it loads things in. However I also went from DDR3-1333 to DDR4-3600 at the same time, so who knows which has the more benefit.
Opening a browser is the standout for me, it legit feels like it opens before I even click it. But again, that's vs taking a second, MAYBE 2.
I reinstall windows every 6 months.
Wasn't the best, and wasn't the worst. But going to nvme has resulted in huge performance gains. Mileage varies of course but crystal disk says the nvme drive is around 5 times faster. And we have gone to DDR4 from DDR3 but subjectively the system feels a whole lot smoother. Diminishing returns has been mentioned and I agree - but I don't agree that it doesn't make a huge difference when combined with other advances
