I have a 1Tb Xbox one and that's constantly full and I don't game all that much on it. As we move towards a future of services such as Xbox game pass this is only going to get worse. It wouldn't be too bad if we all had FTTP 300mbps connections but I'm stuck on 20mbps.
I've only been playing CoD since Warzone is free, the number of large updates are shocking, although, it does show they are fixing stuff, I would rather the Warzone installer be separate from the main CoD though as I should imagine there's loads of stuff that the updates give us that isn't needed for CoD...
Aaaa the good old days, when a game could fit on a DVD :-)
I totally get people on a not fast internet connection get pissed off, i would for sure be that if i was in that situation,, and someone made games i would like to play.
Sadly i have the connection, but no one make a single bloody game i would like to play.
which for me at least are just about as frustrating.
I really thing games should be able to fit on a DVD, and then if you liked to and have the computer to run it, you could update to kick ass graphics ASO with a substantial download ( maybe at a slight extra cost )
Me personally i would have no problem playing a good game, even if it just had graphics like say the first far cry game, and i dont even think i would bother with a graphics texture ASO update over download.
I just want to Dl game fix - map fix - cheat fix over download,,,,,, not the whole bloody game.
Laughts in 56Kbps modem noises
i'm guessing, next updates should be smaller then?
This was the reason i uninstalled in the end, my SSD was getting full.
Someone needs to send them a copy of WinZip.
44gb on PC (if you own the full game).
I didn't enjoy downloading this today given that I currently have no internet thanks to Openreach & BT's usually shenanigans. Taken all day with my phone tethered to pull it down but it made it!
Short version - 1gig FTTP install booked for 4th June, Openreach didn't turn up (various excuses, doesn't matter), BT decided to cancel my phone line anyway (despite promising several times they wouldn't), then can't get a new appointment until 1st July, finally agreed to give me free copper broadband (ADSL Max...yuk) which doesn't start until tomorrow. So stuck on 4g
I can actually make use of my old FTTC line to some degree as they didn't properly disconnect the line and just put on a DNS block, so I can connect to a VPN and use the line...but only at 6mb/0.5mb which is well, painful. I assume it's working under some non QOS'd limited rate.
Yes, unlimited data luckily. I was on a 100gb package in prep for when I get a 5G phone later this month, but EE kindly upgraded me to unlimited after explaining the above, and discounted that so it's less than I was paying before(!). Great service from them as always!
Looks like the servers are struggling again. Downloaded less than 1gb so far started at around 17:30.
I just did a double take wondering how you downloaded with no Internet connection before reading on! Interesting about the VDSL still kinda working though.
That's good to hear. Although I rarely use my phone for tethering I still see it as an important backup. I only have a small-ish data plan so wouldn't be using it for game updates and the like but it allows me to continue with the important stuff.
