I wonder if they have taken care of the essentials? Screen burn, etc? Also, I wonder if the issues around array shapes and text resolution is still there? There was an issue with mobile displays that meant you would see poorly resolved text at 1080 but this would disappear on 1440. Given the size difference between mobile displays and a laptop display, I wonder if this issue is to make a comeback?
geeeezzz, it all supposed to happen 2010 ...
I hope everybody really loves dark mode as OLED is very power hungry unless everything is very dark.
Although this NBC review of the OLED Thinkpad Yoga
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo...battery%20life
says the
Earlier in the review they also said"Update 06/18: The WQHD IPS panel manages a runtime of 6:05 hours in our Wi-Fi test, which is basically identical to the OLED model."
"Please note: compared to an IPS panel, the power consumption of an OLED display varies much more with the screen content. At idle, we measured a difference of 5 watts depending on if we chose a light or dark background."
This panel will be used in high end business laptops, when working time is very important, hope they will manage to make it durable enough.
I know someone who has a oled tablet
After 2 years of watching youtube videos on it, it has very noticable screen burn
MicroLED needs to come already. Feels like we're waiting an age for things to come around in display technology, but maybe I'm just too impatient. I can't enjoy OLED completely due to the anxiety around burn in - even though they've improved it over the years.
I know this thread is a few months old, but I'm really wondering why OLED is so inexistant in the monitor world. I have difficulty believing it's purely concerns over screen burn.
I've just bought a pair of Lenovo 27" 4k monitors. They're great and offer good value for money, but they're IPS so whilst colours on them are great and accurate, black levels really aren't that good.
What surprises me most is that I have a Gigabyte laptop which has a *gorgeous* 15" 4k HDR OLED screen. It's just sublime. I'm a sucker for high resolution and I admit, at 15", a 4k resolution does need scaling a bit as my eyesight isn't what it was 20 years ago! However, I'm really surprised there isn't anything in the monitor market from 24" to 32".
I've not used my laptop in anger 10 hours a day since buying it, but no signs of screen burn on the taskbar yet...
