Not really - They already failed their own announced target round our way by about five years, and to this day have still not met it...!!

I find https://www.thinkbroadband.com/ rather excellent for broadband data. You can map so many providers actual coverage on a map. Its worth noting that while some exchanges are being done in bulk now - a lot of FTTP is piecemeal (Filling in new builds, OR competitor etc).

(Its always a little depressing when I look at my little town though with 3 businesses on top of the exchange with FTTP and nothing else... There is very little OR FTTP in the Southampton area. Its just VM or Toob in the City itself.)

Edit: Just looked on one.network who do public info on local roadworks show Virgin Media are doing some work on the main road in my area. Hopefully a good sign for some more alternatives shortly for me? I guess they could just be going though but that would only make sense if they planned an Isle of Wight expansion or do they ever lay an area just for schools/business?

Nice. I've dug around and Virgin Media also do a lot of dark fibre as its called - back haul for other services. I won't hold my breath just yet. There are also Neos (ssetelecoms.com) and Vodaphone operations also in the area so its is probably just dark fibre until I hear otherwise. Maybe someone is doing a link to the Isle of Wight and by passing us which would be typical...

Looks to be very accurate, too. BT are showing our area to be utterly desolate and devoid of all assets, even though the exchange less than a mile away has been proudly fibre-enabled for years.
It shows GigaClear too, but pinpoints which individual properties are served. Good for nosing on the neighbours!

Some do, and that's the biggest bugbear for us - We've had BT fibre lines going right past our house and on to serve both the middle-of-nowhere industrial estate and the AWE site behind us, yet we don't merit one of our own.

I got GPON FTTP installed here too in the summer - No installation cost, £49.99 a month (then £59.99 after 18 months), and getting rock sold 910 down/105 up at the moment. That's with BT.

It's (currently, whilst the capacity is there) a good product, stupidly cheap against the competition, and well, it works! Install was easy - took them about an hour in total...10 min to blow the fibre down the tube (including clearing a blockage), and the rest of the time as they ran the fibre to exactly where I wanted it in my house.

You may be thinking of FTTPoD which is the really expensive one where there is typically a custom install - depending on your luck, that can lead to install costs of between the £1k and £30k.

I currently get around 34 Mbps standard (Fibre with BT Halo 1) fibre here (ST19 9PN).

Based on your postcode only, you can get up to about 40mb on VDSL, but you are doing well to get above 25 really. The most accurate checker you can use is the BTWholesale one here - but you need to enter your own phone number etc to get an accurate number.

What you are looking for is "WBC FTTP" to be listed as a line under Featured Products. Once that appears, you should be able to order it.
