Not impressed with the under load or heavy load numbers... honestly is there no stock water cooling solutions that can keep it cool yet?!?

During or under load 50+ degrees C is too much, maybe they should replace water with oil or something.

Just tweak the fan profiles and can easily get lower.... but for many cpu's they advise around that temp as lower doesn't help at all just makes more noise
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!

I can't believe a 40mm fan at 3000rpm is in any way 'silent'.... Perhaps the usual vvvvVVVVVWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO noise just rose in pitch beyond normal human perception?

I believe the technical, engineering term is "dog bothering".

Or lack of Thermal understanding and using the wrong resources.

Re: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420

Happy to see Hexus finally review an Arctic Liquid Freezer II, as I believe this is the current benchmark for comparing all other AIO coolers. It would be good to also test the 280 to provide a direct comparison to other AIO reviews that are typically more matched to the 280. Also, the 280 may well be quieter than the Noctua.

Regarding the VRM fan, I've tested with it on and off, and I can't tell a noise difference.

@QuorTek What's the need to keep a CPU under 50 C at max load?

The more I look at it, the more it seems like it needs a -90ยบ rotation. Having the fan at the top just looks wrong...

Re: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420

I bought my 420mm from Scan and the first one was exchanged as it arrived with quite a bit of fin damage. On fitting the replacement, easier to fit the rad and then the block, I agree with the initial findings in the review......The 450mm length of pipes are only just long enough, I needed to shunt my AIO over to the left so that the tubes would not look to be at full stretch.
Very good performance and I'm happy enough with its ability to keep my toasty 5Ghz 9900k cool. Much more effective than my Noctua NH U12A cooler.
Nice to be able to see a little more of my motherboard for once...!
