Everytime I see anything about these cards I can hear my wife in my head saying no. I used to upgrade my PC once or twice a year. These prices are becoming a joke.

$599 and 8GB VRAM? I can just see where an Ampere Super refresh,or the next generation will see a big improvement....VRAM capacity.
Yep indeed...it's bonkers. £1049 MSRP for this is a heck of a lot - and scalpers will be charging double that.
I almost wish that 4k gaming had never been pushed so hard - in reality you don't need these cards for 1080p or 1440p gaming, and both of those resolutions are perfectly fine for pretty much everyone...and we could still be buying (the already expensive) £600 top end cards and be just about content. Even with raytracing on.
I'm not in the market for a 3080ti, but I will be watching the reddit/twitter show on thursday to see just how quickly they sell out

Mass public won't see or be able to get hold of these. They'll be snapped up !
I've pretty much given up on looking to upgrade.
So, are the FE cards LHR as well then, Nvidia did say at one point that no FE cards would be and only be AIB cards that would be..
I said it years ago.. when 4K just became a thing with Titans and 690GTX cards and more.... and to, today... 4K is a myth
Just what we need when they can't even meet demand, more segmentation.
Before anyone shouts at me, yes i know these chips wouldn't end up in lower tier cards but it's still frustrating to know they're trying to squeeze more profit out of silicon when it's impossible to get any GPU close to MSRP.

As noted, it can be interpreted due to the looseness of the terms but it is a signalling that Nvidia may not bother. It'll be quite easy for them to utilise the same silicon with the LHR system with flag=on disabled.
Not sure why they'd want to though, thorough kick in the teeth to AIBs or maybe because it's so low stock numbers run that it's irrelevant, it won't be enough to make a dent.
