    NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT Preview

The most desirable mainstream graphics board on the market at the time of writing, bar none. Anything slower treads on the 6800 Ultra's toes a bit too much, so it'll be interesting to see how NVIDIA might handle that product overlap in the months to come. We await the imminent arrival of the ATI R520, and friends, that little while longer, but see NVIDIA's timing as just about perfect. In the meantime NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT is effectively the HEXUS 'Editor's Choice' for the high-end.

Excellent, these things have only been for sale for 28 minutes and we are able to have a full review already. Thanks Hexus!

Too bad they dont have AGP model (yet?).

Glad to see XFX really are fond of their graphics cards too, probably one of the best nvidia distributers out there imo

Yeah the last time he tried to benchmark his typing skills we could hear Mavis Beacon groaning from the room next door .

Excellent review as usual, I for 1 would of loved to see the results of the 6800GT in there so people can see whether to go for these cards or think "nahhhhhh" and get the 7800GT instead

If I can score a 6800 GT from somewhere, I'll fling that board and 6800 Ultra in when I get the chance, in an update. Keep your eyes peeled.

Nice review, the difference between the two cards doesn't seem as great as I thought it would be. I wonder if you can unlock it to a full 7800GTX, that would make it just fantastic.

Good preview, I was going to get a GTX last week, but I may hold out and get this instead, since it's cheaper.

Maybe on some batches where the demand fro the GT > demand for GTX? I expect someone will work it out then we can have a scramble for week xx cards .
I wish I wasn't a skint student (ah well, 6800GT prices are sure to tumble now )
Thanks for the super-speedy review, Rys.
