After more than a decade of production, Sony have announced the end of the PlayStation, the console that got them into the marketplace and under your telly all those years ago.

Although, having had a production run of over 11 years, it's got to be in the running for the world's longest running offical production console (ignoring all those cheap chinese clones)

surely the gameboy beats it. bare in mind, i think only the 'psone' has been made for the last ~5 years.. the game boy started in '89 and the gba didnt come out until 2001 afaik..

Ah, but there was the pocket, the colour, etc...
I doubt they made the classic for more than 3/4 years.

Nah, the Atari 2600 beats them all... Production started in 1977 and finished in.... 1991!

colour didnt come out till '98, and they were still making the classic then, afaik
