Orange OVP customer a bit confused

    Hi Guys and Gals,
I've been using Orange OVP (Virgin Equiv.) for years (October 2001!), I got GPRS switched on a while back. I think I am on Orange's standard rate for mobile internet, does anyone have any idea what that might be?

Also I get no cheap upgrades, last time I checked an upgrade would be more than the PAYG price and pretty much the same as sim-free. Where do I stand in terms of buying an Orange PAYG phone and just using my (very worn) sim in it?

Do I have the longest running single contract on hexus?

ring them up and ask for an upgrade if they refuse as to cancel the contract. you will be put through to retentions and they will try to keep you by offering you the earth. 6 years and no upgrade jesus you are loyal.

aside from that you would be fine to use a orange pay as you go phone with an orange contract phone.

Re: Orange OVP customer a bit confused

I phoned them up and the guy replying was quick, kind and honest. My best bet is to stay with sim-frees or a PAYG phone.

I should have mentioned, the OVP Virgin has no monthly fee, I just pay for calls at normal contract rates with no obligation to buy PAYG credits and free voicemail. My typical monthly bill is £3.50. So I am not altogether supprised. I probably have spent more on phones than calls with this setup. I don't dislike using phones at all, but myself and my close friends are low call/messengers.

No guarantee of an upgrade, but I new that when I signed up.

Thanks Alsenior that was sound advice.
