What phone and why?

What phones are everyone using at the minute and why did you select the particular model?

For me I have 2 at the moment :

Nokia 6110 Navigator, reason for this is its pretty heavy and I like to know the phone is actually in my pocket. It is also Symbian OS so you can run some of the old dos based games on it (Doom runs and looks great! ). Not forgetting though it has a decent Satnav service on it that is up to date and pretty reliable.

LG Viewty, got this for the 5 Mega camera and the large touch screen. Overall it stands out and I wanted something that looked pretty up to date. Also for putting movies onto it for when I travel to and from work on the bus (Takes over an hour to get to work and around 2 hours to get home - go figure! ). Ideal as a bit of a media center for me when I'm travelling is the best way to describe it.

Whats everyone else using at the minute, I know to a lot of people I speak to a phone is literally just that and they only replace them when they go off. Recently I have seen people still using old Nokia 3410 and the old Samsung V200 with the swivel round camera on it!

Samsung G600

It doesn't do a whole lot more than your average phone. But, it looks smart, is super thin and most importantly, only needs charging once a week. It does all the basic stuff very well, but doesn't have the extras such as Wi-Fi and so on.

I usually have a phone that tries to do too much, and fails, so I opted for a simpler Samsung this time. Very happy with it too.

TyTN II/Vario III

Because it is a kick ass mobile device. Not the best of choices if you just want a phone to be a phone as it can be overly complicated. I haven't made mine very user friendly, but I use it more for music internet access (via USB cable to my laptop), GPS, etc.

Pulling google maps data over 3G and tracking your position with the built in GPS while streaming stereo audio to your cars head unit is very cool (and very geek)

Its a damm good phone but the only let down for me is the screen resolution, and the lack of video playback.

The Sony Erricson K850i is awesome, no more joystick troubles, a really good music player built in and a camera that gets excellent results whatever the lighting conditions.

K770i - thin, light, cheap, solid feel to it, camera cover. but most importantly, super easy transition from prior phone (k750i)

8600 Luna - solidly built phone with just the main features you actually want, oh, and looks nice to boot.

shame the 8800 Arte has just come out

sony ericsson w580i cos it looked nice but is crap so as of tuesday switching to a W880i instead as it looks better quality phone

Pretty nice phone, the touch sensitive buttons are far too sensitive though; I constantly press them by accident.

Might be getting a LG viewty soon though

Although atm ive got my HTC and N95 8GB on the go, so best of both worlds so to speak.

Well . . . if you exclude them both having shocking battery life!

Same here, just got it the other day and incredibly impressed with it, had 2 SE phones in the past, both died with Joystick problems and my old phone (still in use, W950i) is having similar problems with the jog wheel on the side (unresponsive at times, over enthusiastic others).
