I'm looking to get an iPhone 3G on contract but it's still fairly expensive on either a monthly contract or PAYG. Does anyone knows of any deals or imminent price cuts?

Havn't heard anything at work (I work for O2) on tariff changes and pricing.

Its so good they don't need to price cut it or offer deals. New one will land at the end of the year as well I bet.
£400 isn't *that* bad on payg - in fact it's cheaper than many other high end phones on sim-free (unlocking is a pretty trivial matter now), eg: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=173502

The dilemma I face is that I have a fully expensed work phone but have always had a personal phone that I use at weekends and when i'm on holiday. I always switch my work phone off at the weekends. I really like the iPhone so will probably bite the bullet and get it at the £35/month tariff (18 month contract). It would double as an iPod in my car.
You could do what I did with my N96 - Try and make friends with an O2 employee then get them to stick you on friends and family (30% off monthly contract).
Taz, read through the comments here for some ideas.

You can now buy a PAYG iphone on O2 and get it unlocked it immediately. Great if you want to use Vodafone or tmobile
£14.60 - http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html
Also says they'll take the web&wifi bolton off you, not that you'd probably be using it if you're unlocking anyway.
SPAM???
Voda offering it from mid January.

Talking to yourself is a sign of insanity.
