Premier Plan, you can get them on 0870906 1830

Prices vary depending on phone, but i did pay £7.99 Per month for my Blackberry Storm, which is a pretty expensive phone.

    Hope this helps

Check your bank account, some include phone + travel insurance.

    Re: Mobile Phone Insurance

Ask your service provider, they all do the phone insurance.

O2 have a premier insurance which is £7.50 per month, £25 excess and it covers loss, theft, accidental damage, water damage, upto £2000 worth of calls if the device is stolen whilst abroad, accesories that are actually with the handset when it gets stolen (upto a maximum value, covers things like bluetooth headsets) and so on.

I would ask with your service provider before anywhere else. Exception to that rule is if you got your phone from say Carphone Warehouse or Phones4U, your service provider won't cover you as the handsets are the generic unbranded ones. In this case you would have to insure through CPW or P4U. From some of the stories I have heard though I wouldn't insure through them (these are just stories I have heard however and may not be true - have to get that one in).

If you have bought from a dealership I would go with home insurance or your bank as most policies cover mobile phones now. They will need date of purchase, make, model and IMEI number. Also if you have to make a claim make sure you get the phone and sim blocked within 48 hours of loss or theft and get a crime reference number straight away or they may not pay out.

    Re: Mobile Phone Insurance

I find it is easier to add all risks cover to your home insurance than insure individual items.

Certain items you need to mention specifically, but others up to a certain value (mine is £5k/item I believe) do not have to be itemised with them.

    I
O2 only give you a refurbed handset. Have you thought about getting house insurance to cover it?

The only problem with using house insurance is the relatively high excesses and also potentially losing your no claims bonus should a claim be required.

    Re: Mobile Phone Insurance

Paying insurance of £7 to £10 per month seems a rip off to me when you consider comprehensive House/Contents insurance is about £35 to £40 per month. I would make sure that your existing cover does/doest cover it first.

Dito, on a similar plan myself. You can also get a plan where you get a replacement phone within 24hours (obviously this costs more), but handy if you run a business and can't be without the phone.
