Question Nokia N6500 slide or N6310?

    Hi all,
Does anyone have an opinion on either the Nokia N6500 slide or N6310 mobile phone?? I have read mixed reviews on both....

    Thankyou

Re: Nokia N6500 slide or N6310?

My girlfriend has the 6500 slide and it was okay for the first 3 months.

After that, the slide system ( nokia and THEIR dodgy slides - don't get me started on the problems I've had with Nokia's sliding systems) started to play up a little so it was taken back to carphone whorehouse for repair.

Once it was back it was fine for a week, and then the keys on the right of the keypad would not function at all so it went back again to be repaired.

Now, the speaker in the phone has started to fail. It's that quiet that you cannot hear the caller if your near any noise over 22 dB and is going for yet another repair job.

Weird thing is I've seen people with the 6500 have no issues and others that have one do so it's 50/50 really by the look of it.

My dad has a 6500 slide and it was OK, thats it not great and it started dieing and spamming the internet along with dodgy buttons after a few months. Hes now got an LG arena which hes very happy with.

i had a slide as an upgrade on 3. the phone itself was ok, took me a little while to get used to (first nokia). my main problem was the poor signal compared to my k800i. mine never broke physically though... until i launched it against a wall!

Unlike its namesake, the 6500 Classic, the Slide is quite a chunky handset and also feels very heavy. The brushed metal panels on the front and rear stop it from looking like a complete brute, but it still falls somewhat short in the desirability stakes.

Well... following your comments, I have decided against the 6500 slide... so now I'm trying to decide between the Nokia 6301 and the Sony Ericsson C510 (but have been tempted by LG Cookie and LG KS360 nbut not sure how suitable they are for a texaholic like me!!!)

Great choice mate not going for the 6500 slide , I work for a mobile phone company and where I work, its called the boomerang phone - out of every 10 soldl, 8 comes back with problems (& the problems tend to be quite persistent ), good thing we dont sell that phone at work anymore.

C510 is a good one I'd say, very few problems with the phone, great for internet, decent camera specification 3.2 megapixels (if at all if you're bothered about the camera), nice look as well.

LG Cookie & LG KS360 are ok, but not the best if you're into texting as its not as quick to text as on a normal phone with buttons, from what I've seen you either love it or hate it. Guess its a matter of having the patience really as touchscreen phone's sensitivity can vary greatly. And say, the screen on them gets damaged, they're comparatively quite expensive than a normal phone to replace the screen because of their size & their touchscreen features. Personaly, I think the LG KS360 looks & feels quite plasticy which puts me off a bit.
