    Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Updates

My wife has this phone, with firmware 1.6, so I thought I'd do an update to get her onto at least 2.1, but on performing the update, it still says it's 1.6. Is there a 2.1 update available for this phone, or is it stuck with 1.6? She's with Orange...

Sony promised one in Q3 I believe (there was an article on Hexus). I'm on the X10 mini pro - just been rooted online so I might have to have a crack at that.

Re: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Updates

There has been a small update in the last few days which has improved battery life, incorporated playnow into mediascape and it looks like the screen is clearer.

One downside though is that if you have wifi enabled and the mobile signal drops it cuts the wifi off also, go figure!

We had the rep in a few weeks back and apparently the official 2.1 update is going to land in the next few weeks. Sooner the better!

Awesome news. I hope they iron out some of the 'quirks'. Maybe it's just Android phones in general but the little things you take for granted in a well polished phone are just missing.

Still need to root and remove all the cruddy apps that are installed...

Re: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Updates

Although the x10 has a gd camera, big screen and fast processor it just doesn't do justice to android with Sonys custom UI! My girlfriend has one and when u put it up against the Desire, HTC sense kicks it into touch! The 2.1 update should help a lot I hope!

Any more news on this update? Or a sense UI mod? My wife's getting quite frustrated...

Re: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Updates

Different networks will also have different times of when they have the update available to them. 3 is usually quite bad for getting updates so is Vodafone, usually a month or so after everyone else

I hope Se don't do to you X10 users what they did to us Satio users...... and announce that they are no longer going to support the phone via updates....
