Just had a small update to my tattoo come through, doesn't seem to be much said about it online excpet for one site getting excited and called it android 2.1. According to my handset its 1.67.405.70, although it is encouraging that they are still supporting it... who knows, might even get 2.1 if they are feeling generous.

This update was apparently released on the 1st, few days ago.

Been googling, anyone know where I can get release notes? Doesn't seem to be any info on this update on the HTC website except that it was available over the air.

Looks like the Cyanogen guys have added support for the Tattoo to CM7...

So if you really wanted, you could stick Gingerbread on there

Would probably crawl with gingerbread?

I may give it a go because the lack of certain apps is pushing me to upgrade now; e.g. skype.

Seem to be having problems rooting my tattoo... followed the instructions, installed usb drivers etc, stuck my handset on debug mode > plugged it in and it didn't pick up the device.

Any ideas?

Can Windows see the device? are you doing 'adb devices' or whatever the command is (rooted a friends HTC Magic a while ago, but cant remember the specifics, had to use a goldcard and all sorts of fun).

I would recommend checking out the knowledgeable chaps @ xda - Tattoo forum

as you are much more likely to get a response there... perhaps have a go at this.

I think part of the problem might be that I haven't got htc synch installed. I'll give it another go soon, I was thinking of just using rom manager to download and install once I've managed to root the handset.
