    HTC Desire Gingerbread

For anyone else running a HTC Desire - Gingerbread (Android 2.3) is available... after saying they wouldn't do it for the Desire HTC backed down and released it.

BUT - it's not OTA from the networks, it's direct from the HTC Developers site Here - because of this it WILL wipe everything on your phone back to factory, and it WILL remove any network loaded bloatware - bummer !!!

I did mine and my wife's yesterday, - runs so much better with the Orange crud removed, and the new OS feels more responsive with some nice new widgets, plus I now have >40MB of free system memory rather than the <20MB before.

Well worth doing if you have a Desire, saves you rooting it... walkthrough on the process available Here

    Re: HTC Desire Gingerbread

I missed this when Barakka posted.

Will look into it when I get some time. I could do with more free space on my Desire, that's for sure.
