    iPhone 4s - international numbers

Is it possible for an iphone to remove the 0 from international numbers before dialling automatically?

e.g. A user enters a phone number in outlook. They type 01234 123456 and select UK (+44)

They try to call that number from the iphone. The iphone attempts to dial 0044 01234 123456 when it should remove the 0 to dial 0044 1234 123456.

Simply removing the 0 on all numbers is not an option, not is not selecting the country.

    Thanks in advance

Re: iPhone 4s - international numbers

Normally you put international numbers in the form

+countrycode number (without the leading 0)

    so UK +44 123456789
    France +33 123456789
    Usa +1 123456789

    (space added here for clarity)

The carrier sorts out the country access code depending on the country you are in. It is transparent to the user. So in the UK, UK (+44) numbers will be dialled normally at normal rate, abroad they will be routed to the the UK. (or whatever International dialling code us relevant.

This is true for all phones, so if you travel abroad a lot and call back to the UK, just change the leading 0 of your UK numbers to +44.

Re: iPhone 4s - international numbers

Unfortunately this is not an option. Windows mobile and blackberries have the intelligence to remove the 0 when it's not needed.
One thing you have to understand here is that the user (s) is (are) entering the numbers completely correctly into outlook. The country is UK. The area code is 01234 and so on. It's just that those who claim their phones are business ready employ the same short sighted, tunnel visioned development teams as anyone else and a pretty obvious test such as a normal user entering a phone number in outlook and seeing if it can be dialled from a phone seems to be beyond them.
Before anyone leaps to their defence, it was one of the tests me and my boss tried pretty much as soon as we got the phone so it is obvious.
