Legit sim unlocking (ie I'm out of contract)

So T-Mobile have said its £15, and 10-28 days to do that.

T-mobile have recommended I go to a 'small shop or market stall'.... Nice.

Most websites charge the same and claim instant.

    Any recommendations?

I think we need to know what type of phone it's for as some can be done via code, others direct to network etc. And some can be removed via hardware tools.

You mean removing the network lock from a network-provided phone, so you can switch to a different network's SIM?

    I've had success with unlock-now.com

Re: Legit sim unlocking (ie I'm out of contract)

Omnia 7, tried the http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...465597&page=27 method, get invalid password, even with my tmobile code as 234, 23430, 234308, 30, 308 etc.

I'll have a look at that link hex, and yes, basically I got this phone 14 months ago, a few weeks ago they upgraded me (as I was out of contract) to an Omnia7. I'd like to use this phone with a GeoSim for a bit before giving it away to friend of mine, as such I need to unlock

Is THIS of any use to you?

Seems to be successful for some, and seems to have a few more steps than listed on the xda link above?

    Didn't work either

Used http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/ £15.99 and they had the code within the hour so not bad!

99p more than t-mobile wanted to charge, but a heck of a lot faster!

Re: Legit sim unlocking (ie I'm out of contract)

I don't think you even need to be out of contract, it just needs to be out of warranty, ie 12 months.

I read it somewhere years ago and rang Voda to ask them to unlock. They came back and said it'll be £20, I said, "no it won't, the phone's over 12 months old, so you have a legal responsibility to unlock it". He went to speak to his manager, and the next thing I know, I've got the unlock code. Funnily enough, I only wanted to unlock it so I could put a Voda Aus sim in it when I went on hols there...
