Hi all,
I'm due for an upgrade next week on my phone contract, I currently have a HTC Desire HD which I have to say I still love, as much as an entertainment device when I'm at home as a mobile. The only thing that I really would change about it is the battery life which is seriously shocking. I'm pretty sure I'd be able to wangle the One X or Galaxy S3 when the time comes which I know are both very powerful phones. I just wonder is there really any point in a quad core phone? My HD runs all the apps I have nearly flawlessly plus I just heard its getting the ICS update some time in the next couple of months which was the only other reason I could think to switch phones. The One X's lack of removable battery and storage makes me hesitant to choose it.
I currently pay £30 a month (which effectively comes in at £22 after redemption). Ideally I'd like to pay a lot less. I'm just wondering what you guys think and what my options are, I'm torn between going for a dirt cheap SIMO deal of less than a tenner a month and staying at the price I'm at but getting a new phone possibly to flog on eBay because I could do with the cash injection, I wonder if I could wangle a retention deal that would be good enough to actually make the latter more profitable than just going for a cheap SIMO. Problem with the latter option is that they will try and tie me in for at least 18 months to get a top new phone, if not 24, by which time my HD will probably be REALLY showing its age, or possibly have broken/got lost etc.
Obviously the third option is get a new phone now and sell the HD, which I don't think I would get much for.
Opinions?
