iPhone 4s (ios 5.1.1) How do I recover a contact photo including EXIF data?

Basically I added a contact, and took a photo of the contact there and then. The photo is not in my camera roll and seems stored only in the contacts data.

How can I get the original file out of my phone, and onto my PC so I can find the EXIF data (specifically the geo location).

Oh and I'm using PC to make it that little bit more difficult! - seriously getting annoyed with these "quirks" of iPhone... anyone wanna buy a white iPhone 4s? 7 months old, always been cased.... will swap for a Galaxy S3

Send the contact to an email address? Not sure if that includes the image though.

Oh and sure I'll buy it, £50?

Finally figured out how to do it... and unfortunately the phtoo does not have location tagging within the exif! Doh!

    Started by backing up iphone

then used iPhone Backup Extractor to extract the Library\AddressBook\AddressBookImages.sqlitedb file

Then grabbed firefox sqlite manager extension

saved the blob as .jpg and voila... I have the file... but as I say, no location/geotracking exif data... ah well, it wasn't important anyways!

    and £50... no thanks

Mate I'm doing you a favor by not selling to you, you'd just be wasting £60... iPhones are rubbish... I've had one for 4 years? nearly? and after seeing android work just recently, I can honestly say android looks 100 times better! and If you don't like something on android... you can change it!

I took a HTC Wildfire, and now I regret it. It was a false economy. I'm looking at iOS now.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

The camera roll is saved inside of iTunes iPhone Backups.
try to restore iPhone 4S lost & deleted photos from a backup.
right click the iPhone under "Devices" in iTunes. click "Restore from Backup..."
it will list the device backups in the box with a datestamp on the right side. Choose appropriately.

Re: iPhone 4s (ios 5.1.1) How do I recover a contact photo including EXIF data?

I tried several times and was able to finally get my contacts and other data copied over from the restore, here is how but only works if you have the restore available with the contacts still present.

    1. Restore from the previous backup (you must watch your iPhone because you have to be ready for the next step)

    2. When your iPhone restarts, immediately place your phone in "airplane mode" to stop it from connecting to the cloud and wiping away your contacts. (Your contacts will remain until airplane mode is turned off)

    3. Within iTunes, search for and download "My Contacts Backup" which is free and does not need to connect to the Internet to work.

    4. Within iTunes, under the iPhone, navigate to the App's tab and find "My Contacts Backup" and click the install button to have it installed onto your iPhone.

    5. After installed, run the "My Contacts Backup" and follow the prompts. Do not change any settings, they are already properly set up. After it copies all the contacts, it is ready to e-mail out. Email them to an address you can get on your iPhone.

    6. Turn off airplane mode (this will delete the contacts as said above but we have a backup.)

    7. Open the e-mail and click on the attachment. Follow the short steps and all your contacts will re-populate.

If you are like me, this fix also took care of my iMac and iPad contacts. I have all 400 contacts back. I hope this helps if you haven't found a fix or anyone that finds this page in the future.
