It is a logical step forward in many departments. Screen is now full HD and bumped slightly to 5.7 inches (from 5.5 on the Note II, and achieved largely by bezel narrowing), camera up to 13MP with an updated image stabiliser, Exynos Octa (3G versions) and Snapdragon 800 (4G versions), slightly bigger 3200mAh battery and weight reduction was still managed, though exact numbers are not reported.
Interesting features IMO, it is the first phone to market with 3GB RAM AFAIK, the first with USB 3.0 and a new leather textured plastic back which is meant to resemble a bound book? They also stepped back from the 'natural' design and squared the edges a bit which gives it a more business look.
There are a host of new software features as well which will hopefully trickle down to other Samsung devices, but it does look like promising.
