Angry Keep losing my ringtone on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2

    Hi All

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem? My Samsung Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 keeps losing my ring tone as short as 3 hours later from setting it to a custom ringtone it resets itself back to "over the Harrison"

The ringtone is an MP3 track which i have tried shortening to 20 seconds, saving it in external and internal memory, and even tried sticking it in its own folder in notifications.

    Any ideas.

    Cheers

It's because you have it plugged in to something like a PC when the file is accessed at some point. This will mean it's mounted as a removable drive - when the phone tried to access the file, it can't as the mount isn't valid and so resets it to a default one.

You need to put it on internal memory, or bake it into the ROM.

I have tested it by setting as USB mass storage mode and then turning off USB Mode. Then check to see if its still the set mp3 and its still the same.... but i leave the phone and not even use it after a few hours the ringtone will go back to default. Also have it set from internal memory under notifications folder.

    Cheers

Something is causing a failed handle on the file - it's a classic ring-tone problem under Android. It's just finding out what's doing it.

Think i found the problem, uninstalled EX file explorer and it then gave me the options/listed all the default ring tones then at the bottom add music track, selected that and pointed it at the mp3 i want, and so far so good lasted 2 days without changing

Re: Keep losing my ringtone on my Samsung Galaxy S2 with Jelly Bean 4.1.2

Was wrong it started happening again but now have found what it was!!!! Was an App called Audio manager that i used to set my phone to mute at a set time for when i was at work, found that every time it changed the sound settings it would reset the ring tone. Uninstalled the App and its fine!
