    Windows Phone 8.1 yet?

Just wondered if anyone has seen any sign of the windows Phone 8.1 update on UK handsets yet?
I can't wait for the new swype style keyboard function!

    Re: Windows Phone 8.1 yet?

I believe newer WP8 phones get it first, then 2013 WP8 phones such as my Lumia 620. I've just updated to Lumia Black from Amber and does feel like a real improvement, like being able to close apps using the "x" button in the right when you hold the back arrow for example.
Just had a quick look at WPCentral.com and they have an article about an update for WP8.1 here:
    http://www.wpcentral.com/windows-pho...-squashes-bugs

How's everyone getting on with their Windows Phones by the way? I'm surrounded by Android users here lol. My brother just got the new Nexus 5 and a friend just went for the HTC One M8 which is nice, but he keeps droning on about it lol! I personally, probably should have a gone for the Lumia 820/920 or HTC 8X, since I do use my phone as a mini-tablet now and slighty larger screen would have been good, though I literally cannot fault the 620 in any other way really.

I know two people who recently got the Nexus 5 and, well, one loves it, the other hates it. The one who hates it admittedly did have a strange issue, where it would pocket dial people, when it was flat on a desk, and screen locked, and the pocket dial had terrible compression. Most odd, probably defective, but alas with Android, it's sometimes hard to tell.

I've been using it for a little over a month now, the new music app is crap. They are issuing updates quite quickly for it now however.

Everything else is a great improvement, roll out to the plebs should be next month.

    Re: Windows Phone 8.1 yet?

I've seen the Nexus 5 running along side the HTC One M8 and inevitably the the M8 does better, but it actually gets very warm even hot, when streaming 1080p video to the point where my friend doesn't want to have a case on it, just in case it over-heats.
The HTC build quality is superb though. If HTC keeps producing Windows phones and have a decent camera, I'll be opting for a 4.5 - 5 inch screen version most likely next time and hopefully has an sd card slot too. If not, I'll just go for the equivalent Lumia 1020 etc. The HTC WP8 phones came out in Nov '12, so they are might launch some more this November, unless they are waiting for WP9 that is.

    Re: Windows Phone 8.1 yet?

I've gone and dropped a mug on my M7, smashing the screen and seriously thinking about taking the opportunity to go WP8. I previously really wanted the 920 (in fact had it for 2 days then returned it) but the more I've seen the amendments, and specifically the ones on 8.1, the more I'm thinking its time. I friend has a version of 8.1 (I dont know, pre-release? Dev version?) on his 920 and I have been playing on it today. Like it enough to say that it feels similar enough to my HTC M7 but still able to bring what WP has. Waiting for the 930... looks sooo sweet
