DLNA media player recommendations

Any recommendations of a DLNA streamer for Android?

I just installed BubbleUPnP which uses MX Player I already have on my phone. But i'm not so keen about the UPnP/DLNA server it also starts up at the same time.

I want to install something on my daughters tablet to give her access to the NAS box.

I think she will wet herself when she finds out she can get the twilight films on her tablet.

DAAP on an android tablet will play mp3 tracks streamed from something like mt-daap - which I host on a linux server.

I use skifta, been pretty solid for the last couple of years

I also use Skifta with VLC, the Mrs uses Archos Media Centre (or something like that, by Archos). It's fairly good once you've found the free codecs.

XBMC for Android might be worth a look too.

If you can install plex media server on your NAS, then the plex app is amazing.

All I have right now is a very basic DNLA server built into my Thecus N5200 Pro.

Kust looking for a half decent android app to let my family stream videos off the NAS for the time being.

I can install twonky, and it does look pretty good, but not going to spend money on it right now, not unless this proves popular with everyone.

nooo, hopefully it will continue to work on installed apps. now I need a new dlna.

As I understand it, they are just shutting down the additional services (channels?), you can still use it for pushing media around the house. Don't know if it will stay on Google Play, but no reason why not.

I'll take a look at this, shame the Android app is £2.98. Still worth a look though.

i use plex as its so good.

has the ablity to label all your files correctly and gives you loads of info. you can even stream from your home to your device wherever it is as long as you have a good wifi connection.

Another Plex user here. Well worth a few quid for the apps. Very easy to setup, some of the best labeling of files I've seen and a pretty clean interface.

Another Plex user chipping in! Quality app, great for use on most tablets, smartphones & more importantly easy access for when you're bored at work with the web player (which can be flash or HTML5)

Can't use Plex. This module is for the N5200XXX which is entirely different to the N5200Pro. I assumed the XXX referred to all versions of the N5200, but no, it was just a terrible name for a replacement N5200 instead.

So Plex is out for now.
