I'm a huge fan of my G2 and the G4 looks amazing.

The biggest flaw with the G2 for me is the plastic back, just the feel of it. Leather sounds like a really big upgrade, but hard to say until you actually touch it.

The camera just sounds like a vast upgrade after the tiny incremental upgrade the G3 offered. Better specs, more features, manual mode, but again, we'll have to wait and see the images to really be able to tell.

The screen sounds good too, they haven't gone nuts and it seems like we have a more mature, accurate version of the G3 screen that should also consume less power. Looking forward to the testing again!

Size is a slight disappointment though, I had hoped it would be a smidge smaller than the G3 but is instead a smidge bigger. Still noticeably smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus with the same size screen, so hardly a deal breaker. Seems odd that LG are gently regressing on the screen to body ratio, especially after teasing a 5.3" screen with the worlds smallest bezels.

Looks like this could be my next phone, my G3 is good phone, particularly the camera, but I still find myself always going back to my Sony Z3 due to the great battery life. If LG fix this with the G4 then I'll be first inline.

I think they'll struggle. The Snapdragon 810 (assuming it has it) isn't power efficient at all. In fact it's going backwards. As an example, an S6 with a similar setup processors (8 core in a little big configuration) however lower manufacturing process and higher res screen, not to mention smaller battery, offers as good/better battery life than the M9.

Rumour is that isn't getting the SD810 but rather the SD808 which more power efficient and the screen on this G4 is supposed to use less as well so if true could bode well.

It still won't be as power efficient as a Super AMOLED screen. Samsung managed to get the Note 4 screen to be more efficient than the Note 3 screen while having (I think) ~80% more pixels.

Agree with jimbotae, everything points to lower power consumption and thus better battery life than the G3, in theory!

Super AMOLED isn't always more efficient. I have a Galaxy Tab S and experience very different battery life depending on use. Looking at websites like this that are mainly white seems to drain the battery very fast, if you have a mainly black screen the battery life is amazing.

Having said that, I'd love to see LG using more OLED screens like they do on the Flex series.

Also heavily processor dependent. I still think that a Snapdragon 805 would be a better choice than an 810. Exynos topping both of them.

G4 does look amazing, however. Maybe it'll have LG designed cores? I believe they were working on their own a while ago...

I think you should expect worse battery life than the Z3, as it has one of the best of all smartphones. Camera looks amazing, however.

True, but as long as it lasts more than say 18 hours it should be OK.

I consider anything above 4 hours of screen on time, during which about an hour and a half is Web browsing, and the rest social media, video watching and music listening very good. I get that from my OnePlus with often 25% left, and used to get it from my Z1, so I think it'll be more than enough for us average users.
