Make sure you re-lock the bootloader if you're planning to return it. However if it's issues with Android you're having, a replacement may not help.

bootloader is relocked, though I used a factory image from their site https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images rather than flashing to a back-up (as we never made one of kit-kat) so worry whether this will fail their inspection.
