    Unlocking phones :o!

Having lost my old contract phone, if I get a PAYG phone unlocked and insert a blank sim, get Vodafone to, err 'activate' the sim; then will the phone work properly?

(Grumbling after Vodafone told me getting a PAYG phone would be no problem, and now wanting £20 to unlock it, and 3 weeks to get the code from manufacturers !)

    Thanks !

Edit: also, it'd be great if anyone knows where I can get it (Sharp GX-15) unlocked in Liverpool?

SE's are not as easy as nokia's, but can usually be done at homw for free with no cables etc using engineer service codes. See the link above. I have yet to find a phone i could not unlock with the free software above, appart from my K750i. But then it never needed it anyway and i believe there are codes for it now.

Looks that way, but if you download the free unlock code generating program, you will see that is does all makes. It's only the web interface that does nokia only.

Hmm... I need to unlock my z520i, that proggy won't support it though I think? Anyone know of a non-cable solution to unlock this darn thing? Its more of a time issue, I have to go on holiday on Thursday, no time really to order cable and software, etc...
Doo Doo Doo Da Da DA...
