yeah that's what i meant about them having great taffifs When I used them though I found poor signal coverage when I went out of major cities, lack of things like deliery reports annoyed me, but the worst thing has been customer service. Charging extortionate amounts for it, and generally being slow/arsey/unhelpful. Most of my friends are on O2 because of the cost, and I know from them that things have not changed..

I've never had a problem with o2 tbh, good value, good phone selection, never had a problem with coverage wherever I've been (tbh the only network with coverage issues these days is 3, the main gsm firms all have >99% coverage of the uk population).

Orange turned into a complete shower for me, and I *still* get marketing phone calls telling me I can get a far better tariff than my Orange one (which even when I was with them would have been rubbish - I was on Everyday 50..), and I've not been with them in about 5 years..

T-Mobile were okay for a while, but then they wouldn't offer the phone I wanted, and the tariffs turned a bit rubbish, so I swapped to o2, which tbh has been completely fine, even when I called them direct to move my billing date

Orange have been going downhill steadily for the average consumer ever since they were bought by France Telecom, who use them as a piggy bank. Like the comment above, I'm thinking of pushing T-Mobile instead, who actually have improved massively over the last few years.

Quite how Orange think their new structure will win them consumers I've no idea. But then they're only seem interested in business connections now; you only have to look at the commission structure to see that.

Ran into a guy from Orange sales at CeBIT, this is a confirmed GO. Orange will be charging for delivery reports.

Mind you, everyone else I spoke to from the mobile sector in the UK cannot fathom the tarrif naming idea either.

It seems the French influence from France Telecom is causing undue changes at Orange for the worst, only time will tell.

    Matt.

I'm still on the virgin equivalent tariff, every time I have mentioned this the clued up staff have said to keep it as they don't offer anything close as good now. I wouldn't mind upgrading at some point, but they seriously over brand their phones now so simfree seems my only (rather expensive) option. I can remember when Orange had the best balance of network, cost and branding level. Now a days I don't see anything of interest from them bar the C-series smart phones.

Not anymore. T-Mobile are going to get MASSIVE with their new tariffs. I suggest you read up. Flext.

Basically... £35 a month will get you either 900 minutes, or 1800 texts, or whatever you use in between (Just a 1:2 ratio for minute:text)... so you could use 600 minutes and 600 texts, or 450 minutes and 900 texts, whichever... There's also £20 a month plans, £25, £30, £50 and £75....

Seriously.. T-Mobile is where it's at. Their new tariffs are the business.
Don't they tend to cripple their phones with their software, like voda and orange, tho?
