    I upgraded both my now stolen 8310 and my Vox using xda-developers and as long as you read the instructions thoroughly their instructions are spot on. Obviously any upgrade can brick your phone so you have to be prepared for that.

    flash update the rom with a Qtek one (thats what I use) its a lot cleaner than the tmobile software
    once that is done and obvioulsy unlocked too... the fun begins

    games, sat nav, apps, you name it

    I've had mine for a while now (although its a qtek 9100 as opposed to the mda vario) and I love it
    They were supposedly replacing the 9100 with an updated model but nothign has been said more about it
    All I could see was it had a 2mp cam and boasted a faster CPU
