    Vodaphone questions

My 18 month contract with T mobile is finally up next month and thinking of jumping ship to vodaphone.
Was just wondering what there service and coverage is like ?
Also is their mobile TV stuff any good ?
    Cheers for any thoughts

no idea about the mobile tv, but for me coverage and service has always been excellent. In my opinion Vodafone are only second to Orange now for UK networks

Been on vodafone contract the past two years, have now finally decided to wind it up as I'd prefer to control my spending with Pay as You Go.
Unfortunately, i've managed to roll over my voda sim on my office chair rendering it useless and me unable to use my last months worth of allowance
Anyway, just a month or two ago I jumped ship to Orange, purely because they appeared to offer good bang for buck, 300 , 600 or 1000 texts a month dependant on topup, magic numbers and other extra value here and there.

Bottom line though is that now, two months down the line - i've had several cock ups on their end resulting in me getting cut completely off the network, coverage in this area of hertfordshire is unpredicatable to say the least, and without the extra value, the rates im paying are ridiculous. It's always 40p a minute, 10p per text isnt too bad, and 50p per minute video calling which, is about 5p more than most networks.

Anywhoo, im fed up of inconsistent network coverage, and paying for customer service every single time something goes wrong, and their lacklustre notification of service. I made a call to my magic number just the night before last but for some reason I didn't qualify for it (thanks for letting me know orange!) and so £3.69 credit was sucked away in a matter of minutes, now leaving me with nada. I've had it! - And if you nose around, just the last month or so I was praising orange but ive come to discover that they aint all they are cracked up to be, unless u live in a specific area.

So now im going to voda pay and go as their tarrif and special sim deals at the moment looking appealing, and I know their coverage is very good. buy a voda sim at th emoment for £2 and get £3 initial credit, 500 texts a month for life if you topup by £15 or more, and also you get Vodafone stop the clock and free access to vodafone live.

Cant say fairer than that, and the tarriff aint half bad, something like 30p a minute during the day and less at evenings and weekends, and even less when stop the clock is in effect , so I'd deffo recommend vodafone - just waiting for my sim to arrive now

    Hi Hulkster,

Your coverage can be found on the Vodafone Coverage viewer at www.vodafone.co.uk and click on about us. There will be a link to the coverage viewer and you can add your post code to find the specific info for your area.

I can tell you however that Vodafone generally has a good network coverage – rated best call success rate in the UK

Personally I think that mobile TV is excellent with channels ranging from Live Big Brother, News and Sports Saturday. You can even get channels free for 30 days.

    The packages are:

    Bundle 1 – Sky News & Sports at £5
    • Sky News, CNN, Bloomberg, Sky Sports News, At the Races, Discovery Factual, National Geographic, History Channel
    Bundle 2 – Sky Music & Ents at £5
    • Sky One, MTV Snax, Living TV, Paramount Comedy, Bravo, Cartoon Network, Nickleodeon, Discovery lifestyle, Sky Movies, Biography channel
Bundle 3 – Vodafone Variety pack at £3
    • Channel 4, HBO Mobile, Chilli TV - Extreme Sports, Fashion TV, British Eurosport, UEFA Champions League football, GMTV

You can get all of these channels for £10 per month, again, getting your first month free.

There’s also some really good promotional tariff’s available at the moment too. For more info, visit the on-line store at www.vodafone.co.uk

    Hope this helps.
