I got a SPV C600 on Orange and its fantastic. Orange is the only network to look at when it comes to SPV phones. The range includes the new M600.

The Orange SPV phones are manufacturered by a Tawainese company called HTC and are rebranded by most of the operators. O2 uses the brand "XDA" for their series of HTC phones and T-Mobile used the brand "MDA". They're all identical under the hood. Generally I have found Orange to have the best range of HTC phones though.

They're based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system and, whilst they sync brilliantly with the desktop version of Windows, they can't sync with Macs without expensive (and quite buggy) third-party software. If Mac compatibility is high on your wish list then take a look at the Apple iSync compatibility list on Apple's website. Smartphones like the Nokia N70 will give you roughly the same power and flexibility as the SPV phones, but will sync with your Mac out of the box too. If you don't mind installing a small plug-in, it's also easy to add iSync support for new Nokia smartphones, such as the N73, N80, N91 and 3250.
