I have a confession to make. All week I've been doing some PHP work on my site and since I've been doing it at work where I'm not supposed to, I don't have a copy of Dreamweaver to hand. So for the last week I've been using UltraEdit and I have to say I love it

It's so much less hassle than using dreamweaver when all I want to do is change the name of a variable in a chunk of code! I'll still use DW for the intial laying out of most of my sites, but for the rest of it I'm now convinced text editors have their place

I used to use Dreamweaver but since I now solely design in XHTML/CSS it's really quite an inefficient way to do it since I have to go through and modify the code it generates anyway.

I use a text editor called Texturizer. Imagine notepad with a great interface, syntax highlighting in any language imaginable, tabbed multiple file editing, powerful search and replace... the list goes on. And no, I have nothing to do with the people who make it, I just think that it's such a quality product it deserves more widespread usage.
