    Software on Vista X64 - X32

I am about to move over from XP pro to Vista, and need help with a few questions before I take the plunge.

1, Can I run software that works in Windows XP on both versions of Vista, i.e things like DVD shrink, Nero....ect?

2, Are there stll problems running games under Vista. I have just bought an 8800 GTS and dont want performance hits.

Thanks for any help given, I really appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply. So everything that runs under XP, should run on Vista X64. All I need to do now is find drivers for my Audigy.

Not all games, Quake 4 & Doom wont work, Price of Persia: Two Thrones will totally kill your system. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is flaky as hell.
FEAR & most games on Steam play fine tho, but some of the older ones have issues if you're running more than 2gigs of RAM. UT 2K4 has an x64 patch that works fine.

Do you have any probs with VOIP in BF2 Blitzen?

My Array mic (ASUS mobo freebie) works fine in Vista x64 but when in BF2 it doesn't do owt. In mic test in BF settings the bar stays grey with a pink bar at the left end.

I read that disabling hardware acceleration for onboard sound solves it but I think that is for XP as I can't those settings in Vista.

    Any ideas?

The mic works in Xfire including while BF2 is running but no battle comms
