is there any software that can turn off ur PC after a set amount of time?

so u can leave it playing a divx and shut down once the timer has ran out.

shutdown -t xx - where xx is the number of seconds to shutdown.

Type 'shutdown' in a dos prompt for a list of the command options.

i have tried this but it still doesn't want to work

is this for a windows based OS or more for the linx user?

any one else with idea's?

Its for win 2K/XP. Does it not work on Win9X? I use it for shutting down remote machines.

just tried it now on the works PC's (Win XP Pro), i'm able to log the terminal off but not kill the power.

am i missing something.

Shutdown -s turns the power off for me, but I have my PC's set to power off completely when you start->shutdown where as the office PC my not I suppose.

the orginal command code works a treat in XP, thanks fella for that
