Channels in MCE2005 are missing in Vista MCE

I've just installed Vista on my HTPC, currently dual booting with MCE 2005 to gauge performance before ditching MCE 2005.

The problem Ive got is that Vista MCE doesnt pick up Film 4 or ITV 2+1. It does however, pick up ITV 2 and Film 4. On the MCE 2005 install these missing channels are found and work fine. The freeview box in the bedroom also picks up all these channels.

I know for sure that Film 4 and ITV 2+1 can be received, but Vista MCE wont find them!!

Is there something Im not doing? Can I add the channels manually? If so, how?

    Setup up is:
    Pinnacle PCTV
    P4 3Ghz HT
    Asus P4P800-VM
    1Gb PC3200

This must be something to do with the frequencies that Vista MC scans for. Its obviously missing the Film4 frequency all together!

Anyone got any ideas on manually adding a channel? Or a reg fix to change the freqencies scanned?

I would hazzard a guess that it is the driver for your TV tuner. I had a problem with picking up channels on my Pinnacle Dual DVB-T card in standard xp - in the end this was resolved by using the latest beta drivers for the card.

Just had a look on their website it looks like they have some newer drivers:

Im using the latest drivers and Im still missing the above channels. I might try the older drivers on the CD that came with the card and see if that works.

Have you had any luck with the old drivers? If not, it may be worth asking on their support forums.

I think you can add channels manually - If you open up the settings you probably have something like a TV Channels bit. Under Available TV Channels click new and you can manually add one - you can get all the info from your MCE install (highlight a channel in TV Channels and click edit). There also seems to be an option to save/load a channels list which might be easier if you can save in the MCE install and load into the Vista install.
